India independently developed the first RT-PCR kit for Monkeypox disease testing. The kit, according to Transasia's founding chairman Suresh Vazirani, would aid in the early detection and improved control of the virus, which the public health emergency of global significance has been categorised by WHO. A serosurvey among contacts of monkeypox patients may be conducted in the interim by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to assess for the existence of antibodies and determine how many of them were asymptomatic. India thus far has reported ten cases of Monkeypox. Large respiratory droplets, which often involve prolonged close contact, are the primary means of human-to-human transmission, according to the Center's Guidelines for Management of Monkeypox Disease. Other ways it might spread include direct contact with body fluids or lesions, as well as indirect contact with lesion material, such as through contaminated clothing or linens of an affected person. Monkeypox has been deemed a global public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization.
