According to a study undertaken by specialists at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Coronavirus survivors have twice the risk of getting severe blood clots that move to their lungs as individuals who are not sick. They also had a twofold increased risk of having respiratory symptoms, according to the study. According to the study, one out of every five persons aged 18 to 64, and one out of every four adults over 65, developed health problems as a result of their COVID-19 infection. The chance of suffering acute pulmonary embolism increased by a factor of two in both persons younger and older than 65, according to the researchers, as did respiratory symptoms like chronic cough or shortness of breath. The research used over 350,000 patient records from persons who had COVID-19 between March 2020 and November 2021, as well as 1.6 million participants in a "control" group. The researchers looked examined the records for the occurrence of 26 clinical disorders that had previously been linked to lengthy COVID-19. Furthermore, the patients were followed for one month after their initial visit until they developed a new ailment or a year had elapsed, whichever happened first. The researchers also discovered that respiratory problems and musculoskeletal discomfort were the most common illnesses in both age groups. The study found that while COVID-19 increased the risk of most illnesses in patients under the age of 65, there were no significant changes in cerebrovascular disease, mental health issues, or substance-related disorders. The severity of Covid-19 and the length of disease can have an impact on patients' health-care needs as well as their financial well-being, according to the authors. According to the study's limitations, sex, race, and geographic region data, as well as vaccination status, were not considered. The study didn't look at the influence of newer variations because of the time period.
