The Central Drugs Control Standard Organization's Subject Expert Committee has given Covovax of Serum Institute of India, Pune, emergency use authorization for children aged 12 and up who have specific diseases. The recommendation has not yet been approved by DCGI. The WHO had granted emergency clearance to SII's version of Novavax's Covid-19 vaccine in December of last year. Only Bharata Biotech's covaxin is now being used to immunize people between the ages of 15 and 18. In February, the DCGI authorized biological E's Corbevax for use in adolescents aged 12 to 18. This vaccine, however, has yet to be included in the vaccination campaign. India has given out around 1.78 million doses of the covid vaccine, according to the health ministry. 2.48 million dosages were given out in the last 24 hours.
